Imagination Station!

Grandma & Papa B. came to visit this weekend!  We decided to explore the exciting world of the Imagination Station down in Toledo, OH.  It was only about 45 minutes away, and a great way to get out of the house in this snowy weather!

Nick had to do all the "dangerous" activities, as they clearly had signs posted noting "no expectant mom's".  Look how high up he is on that bike!

Brooke talked the whole time about wanting to spend a second visit in "Elmo's World", which it turned out was perfect timing, as Elmo even stopped by!

Thank you Grandma & Papa B for the great weekend!

More Kids = New Cars

I didn't have to get a new car with Tyler, but both Brooke & baby #3 resulted in new vehicles.  Most people would be super excited about the upgrade, but I have always been so attached to my car.  I still miss that Yellow Toyota!

Thursday...with a few words...

One item off the list.  A little bed put up in Brooke's room for Tyler to "sleep in".  Not really sure how to get him to sleep in it, and not jump though.  Maybe Brooke's cousin Emi will come to visit and try it out, as we have been unsuccessfully with Tyler so far!

(Still not sure how Miss T manages to get 12 kids to sleep/lay on cots for 2 hours for nap time together.  I really need to get some more tips from her.)

1 1/2 Year Old!

Well don't let Nick know, but maybe he is right, and I should consider giving this little guy a hair cut finally.  I mean Brooke has gone 3 1/2 yrs without one!

Tyler is one silly little man, and just like his daddy when it comes to food.  (Empty stomach = Grumpy man)  Brooke & I have a fun routine each morning.  I send her up with a snack cup to wake Tyler or keep him entertained while I finish getting ready.  It hard to explain how incredibly cute is is to see Brooke sitting in the rocking chair "reading" Tyler a story, and him sitting in his crib with a big smile, and munching on some cheerios!  We go to the doctor next week for his official stats, but I am guessing he will be pretty close to 50% for height & weight as he perfectly fits into his 18 month clothing, and is moving quickly into 24 months.  Time to do some more mom-2-mom shopping!

Here are his pictures! (I feel like each time I barely remember, but so far so good, and I haven't missed one yet.)

A year of 3's!

2013, three kids, and 33 years old!

Nick celebrated the big 33 on January 12th.  Not only was it super special getting to celebrate on a Saturday, Grandma and Papa "White Beard" (as Brooke calls him) came to visit!  This meant more people to celebrate with, and an evening out for Nick & I.  Woo hoo!

We spent the afternoon, at the Henry Ford Museum.  At the museum Brooke kept saying how she wanted to see the "red & white car" again, we didn't figure out which one she was talking about until we walked past it at the end....the Oscar Mayer Wiener Mobile!

Brooke helped me pick out Daddy's cake. (No Egg!)  Gram cracker crust, chocolate ice cream, mixed with Reese's peanut butter cups, covered in chocolate gnash, with sprinkles, and Oreo cookies to top it all off with.  Now that was one sweet treat!

The evening we spent walking around Ann Arbor and eating at the Chop House. Plus as an extra treat Jay & Carolyn were able to meet us for dinner!

3rd Trimester here we come!

Wow the 3rd trimester is already here!  Maybe we should think about starting to get ready for this little guy.  Just a few items on the list which need to get completed;  1) figuring out where he is going to sleep (probably a pack-in-play in our room initially), 2) getting the baby clothes & car seat out of the attic 3) figuring out a name.  These are just minor things right?

I am a little nervous these next 11 or 12 weeks are going to go faster than we need.  At least I am still feeling good, and the little guy continues to have very positive doctor appointments!  At 26 weeks the tech actually measured me at 34 weeks along!  She then re-measure, and came up with 25...whew!

Well the belly & other things are growing right along with this little baby...guessting the extra ice cream isn't helping either!

3 1/2 Years...or 42 Months

We are still trying to work with Brooke on her "sleeping through the night skills", but other than that she is doing great!  We are currently experiencing one of her "healthy periods", and we are praying it lasts through the winter!  Her brother completely looks up to her, and will do and repeat anything she says.  When both kids are up in the morning, as I am trying to get ready for work, Brooke can keep Tyler happy by reading to him, or playing patty cake.  Its super cute to watch.

Here are her 42 month pictures!  I do love the fact she get excited right now to get to do her "sign pictures." (Emi, guess which pictures are for you!  Do you have an outfit that will match this?)

The kids also helped put together their new kitchen.  Its a great hit, and they love cooking in it every night!  Especially pouring you a cup of coffee or tea.

Fun in the snow!

I have been having issues loading pictures to the blog, and the reason for the recent delay in posts.  I finally figured out a work around!

Tyler wasn't so sure about the snow in the beginning, but loved being outside and going down the slide.  Maybe it had something to do with the fact I discovered afterward I had him in a size 5 and size 8 boot! (Plus the size 5 had ridges on the inside when the lining was removed to fit his foot....poor guy.)  I wasn't sure which would work better, and they were the same brand...I guess he ended up with one of each...oops!  Brooke on the other hand loved it from the moment we stepped outside!  Hence the random just rolling in it!

2012 Catch Up!

So I am a little behind on blog posts for the end of 2012, so here is a nice catch up post to start 2013 with!  Happy New Years to All!

The first missing post is Tyler's 17 month pictures.  He is in the process of growing his last four canine teeth with the top two poking through.  He will try to repeat almost any word any one says, with our favorite lately being his interpretation of "Christmas Lights." We really need to get a video of his fun speech!  Here are his month pictures.

The kids got fun new Christmas t-shirts for their Christmas party at daycare this year!

Based on the traveling we do for Christmas, Santa agreed to come to our house on Christmas Eve, Eve.  The kids wore their Christmas pajamas for the evening, and of course it was the only morning all week the kids decided to sleep in....really!?!?

Unfortunately for the blog, I decided to just enjoy Christmas this year, and not focus on taking pictures the whole time, so I don't have as many pictures as usual.  However, we had a great time celebrating the holidays with our family and friends!

Christmas Eve morning at our house!

Christmas morning at the Buchman house!

The day after Christmas with the Spokane family!  Also, check out the fancy fairies Brooke & I made.

Then finally to put a rush our our departure back home, Tyler woke up on the 29th with one of his eyes completely swollen shut!  I was ready to take him straight to Children's Hospital in Cincy, but my pediatrician confirmed we had time to get home, and take him to a nearby Hospital.  After a 4 hour drive we arrive home around 3:30 p.m., and Tyler & I arrived at Mott's Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor around 4:30.  They diagnosed him with preseptal cellulitis, and stated he urgently needed an antibiotic to insure the infection didn't reach his eye or brain.  I wasn't nearly as happy with my experience this time.  They pushed the antibiotic on him a little too much, which cause him to gag it up...then  after a few hours of waiting gave him a shot, which they then stated he was allergic too!!  (After reviewing the pictures, with the pediatrician, she is also skeptical he is allergic, plus he never had another reaction.)  Finally after getting him to take a steroid we were allow to go home, and arrive around 10:00 that evening.   Then in turns out they prescribed a completely awful tasting medicine he needed to take 2 tsp of for 10 days!  Really, they think there is any way I can get him to take that!?!??!  Fortunately, after talking to the pediatrician again, and finding a bottle of z-pack we weren't able to get Brooke to take, we had a new plan for Tyler's medicine..whew!

Update:  Tyler has taken his z-pack for 2 out of 3 days, and his eye is about 90% better!
