Bugs & Butterflies Bash

This past weekend we got to celebrate Emilee's 4th and Clayton's 2nd birthday at the "Bugs & Butterflies Bash."  It was so nice to finally get the kids together as we didn't get to see my little sister's family for Thanksgiving or Christmas due different sick kids.  Boy did Brooke miss her favorite cousin, Emi!

Check out the fancy decorations! (Ugh are those worms crawling out of the bottom of Clayton's cake?)

Lots of fun crafts to keep them entertained!

Let's just say Clayton was pretty much speechless when he opened his present of the new cowboy boots!

Ok, I would like to see you get all four kids on the couch for a picture after cake & ice cream! (Yes, Brooke & Emi thought it was very entertaining to put stickers in Tyler's hair the whole time.)

19 months...whew close!

Well this is the closest I have come to missing a month picture, but fortunately at 9:00 last night I remember!  I figured it was worth the risk of waking him up to insure a few pictures.  Plus I took a few bonus pictures today with him awake.

Tyler is doing great.  He amazes us with his talking skills, and even said a whole sentence the other night at dinner as we were giving him his vitamin. "I want to hold it." Nick and I both did a double take, and confirmed we heard the same thing.  It was very cute, and very funny.  He is doing great at daycare, and we love getting the silly reports of who he is playing with, or how he just loves wearing hats.  He is a great eater, and by that I mean you better be waking him up with a snack cup in your hand, and have crackers in front of him the second you walk in the door for the evening.

Each night he makes sure to give everyone their nite-nite kiss, and loves listening to stories, especially the Hungry Caterpillar.  (Since he can stick his finger through the holes, and have you tickle the other side.)

Unfortunately, the last few night he hasn't slept well, and appears to be messing with his mouth, so we are guessing he is probably working on his last few teeth.  (I will need to take a peak tomorrow to see how many more he still needs!)

Here are his pictures.  Yes, he is going to make a great big brother, as he already has his own baby he sleeps with each night.

P.S.  Maybe I will concider giving him a hair cut in the near future.

32 weeks...and a little more

Listening to all my friends, and the different pregnancy experiences, I have always wondered if Not having any complications was more abnormal, and it was actually more normally to have some level of issue.  My first two pregnancies were pretty much completely without complication all the way to the 5 pushes and the baby was out.  With Tyler, my doctor literally had enough time to put on his gloves, and catch the little guy.  With both kids all my test results were normal, and the epidural was amazing.

I don't want to say I took these wonderful pregnancies for granted, but I didn't expect anything different with baby #3.  It looks like #3 is in fact going to be a little big more complicated.  I have recently found out that I have developed prenatal Thrombocytopenia, or low platelet levels, which I guess is common in about 3-5% of pregnancies.  Normal levels are in the range between 150-450 (x1000).  At 28 wks my levels measured 129, and then at 124 at 32 week.  I initially thought it was good news they hadn't dropped much, but in fact the follow up blood work really confirmed I did have the condition, and it was still dropping.  I am now visiting the doctor two times a week for non-stress tests (track the baby's heart rate & my contracts for 20 minutes).  In addition, I have been informed if my levels drop below 100, I will not be allowed to get an epidural.  The real concern is keep the levels above 40-50, when you could have clotting issues, and bleed out.  It really put things in perspective when my doctor stated I was really in the "high risk" pregnancy group now.

Plus he noted I should start planning now for the little guy to need to be induced at least two weeks early.  I never really understood why women got upset when their "birth plan" got changed, but now I have a much better appreciation.  I was looking forward to a similar experience with Tyler of laboring at home, and heading to the hospital to have the baby born painlessly only 5+ hours later.  I am glad my doctor gave me the heads up now, as its been nice to really have time to think about the fact its whatever is best for the baby, and getting the little guy out as safely as possible.

The only positive to this new issue is the fact I will now get a 36 week ultrasound, with another glimpse at the little guy.  Plus since I am heading to the doctor everything Monday & Thursday I get extra sleep & time to get everyone ready those mornings.

Here are a few belly pictures!

Scratches & Scrapes

Still trying to figure out why the wood floor is all scraped up, and there are marks on the walls??

I guess you have to do what you need to in order to keep the kids entertained in the winter!

43 months....Scary Frog Lamp

At 43 months old, and having a frog night light in her room for about 1 1/2 years, Brooke has officially decided it's very scary and needed to be removed from her room.  Why you ask?  "Because his nose is pointing at me?" Duh!

A great day!

A walk....

Stickers..... (Here I thought a toy box was for holding toys...guess I was wrong.)  Brooke is a huge fan of covering her brother in stickers!

And finally a story.....

Peer Pressure at Its Finest!

(They were entertained, but it didn't actually work...maybe next time!)
