I think this post will officially catch me back up. Whew!
I am not sure why, but any time you ask Tyler to smile he thinks its very funny to close his eyes. So now you know a "fake smile" from a "real happy" one. We will need to work on this one! :)
Brooke of course helped with the sign pictures, and enjoyed reading Ty a musically story book.
Then a little painting with daddy.....
And an ice cream, ketchup party....

Helpers, Helpers, Helpers
We had so much great help the first 2 weeks of baby Nate's life! It started with my parents, and then my sister came to visit for a few days, and then finished with Nick's mom staying for the rest of the second week. I am not sure how I would have managed Brooke & Tyler without the help! We are so blessed.
In addition, to my sister, Lea, helping with meals, kids, and cleaning, she also made a super cute hat for some baby pictures, and I made a diaper cover to match. We then set up a little photo studio in the living room, and practiced my camera skills. We took lots of pictures of course, but these are my favorites.
The other reason for the hat was for Nate's "professional" 1 week pictures. However, I actually ended up liking the ones I took better. Also, I LOVE the comparison between Tyler & Nate. Check it out!
It only took a week, for me to get up the courage (or energy), to give Nathan his first bath at home! Outside of the initial shock of the water he enjoyed it, and his brother & sister are already counting down the days until he can join in on their bath time fun.
Since we had the added help over the weekend, I did a little mom-2-mom shopping Saturday morning ALL BY MYSELF! Talk about a weird feeling, and being stressed as to whether or not Nate would have issues with a bottle. (Of course he didn't!)
Thank you again Joyce for all your help with the kids, cleaning, cooking, etc, etc!

1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks...time is flying by as usual
Nathan now officially gets to join in on the fun of the sign pictures. I decided he would get a 1 week, 2 week, and 3 week picture so far. As you can see by the pictures, I don't think he is a fan of the idea, but I am sure it will catch on!
His 1 week doctor visit also went well with his new stats being; 8 lb 10 oz (almost back to birth weight of 8 lb 11 oz), 20.5" long (Yes, just like Tyler he shrunk an inch, which the doctor said is actually true, as they normally lose some of their "cone head" from delivery); and a head size of 14 1/8" (He measure 14 1/4" at birth). So far he is a very happy baby, and crying when he is hungry (every 2-3 hrs), or when he needs some cuddle time.
Week #2 flew by, and fortunately, the kids are doing great with a little baby, and there doesn't appear to be any jealously which is always the worry. They love finding him, and letting us know "baby crying, baby crying", whenever he makes a peep.
Nathan had a 3 week doctor visit, and we were blessed to have another clean report. (Especially, since we were at the doctor with both of his siblings this week and very bad colds. Brooke had a fever all weekend, and then another ear infection. If it weren't for Brooke & Tyler waking us up too in the middle of the night, I don't think we would be tired.) Nathan has actually slept for 4+ hrs a few times in the middle of the night between feedings!
He is now up to a weight of 10 lbs 4 oz, back to his birth length of 21.5", and a head size of 14 3/4". This mamma's milk is doing it thing! Yes, a few more grumpy sign pictures!

45 Months Old...and an Excellent Big Sis!
So these maybe very short quick posts, but at least they include super cute pictures! (Well that's my opinion.)
Pretty flowers sent by my work. Guessing they still want me to come back!

Baby Nate's First Week
So both Nathan, and Brooke have been sleeping for the last 1 1/2 hours (Tyler is at daycare.). I am not sure what to do with all this free time. (Update the blog of course!)
Here are a handful of pictures from Baby Nate's first week at home.
Yes, he is about the same size as your baby doll!
Awake...a sleep....awake....a sleep....
Playdoh!
Couch cuddle time is the best!
Everyone's blanket from Grandma! She finished baby Nate's just this week. Yeah!
Auntie Lea arrived 1 hr before my parents left. Yeah, we weren't alone yet with three kids.

Nathan Thomas Buchman!! Born April 2, 2013 @ 10:21 a.m.
I finally have 5 minutes to get in a blog post! Don't worry all, I have lots, and lots of pictures from the last few weeks, I just haven't had time to upload them yet. (Thanks to a sick Tyler, and sick Brooke...can't really even blame the delay on baby Nate.)
April 1st, we headed to the South Shore Medical Center, for our scheduled induction. (Not sure how it would all pan out with it being April Fools Day and all.)
9:00 a.m. we registered, and we were in our room by 9:30, and informed we were the only ones in the labor & delivery section of the Hospital. By 10:30, my IV was started, and a pill was inserted to ripen the cervix, and begin the induction process. I was also checked and only 1 cm dilated. Throughout the afternoon, and evening I was rechecked, and finally made it up to 3 cm by 9:00 p.m. I was also allowed to order a little food, and had gone on a few boring walks around our small hospital wing. Nick spend the day reviewing the 25,000+ baby name book, and jotted down the following potentials (some I vetoed right away). Nathan (the only name really on our list since Brooke stated she would pronounce "Zack" as "Yak"); Alexander, Leonardo, Logan, Lucius, Mason, Colin, Dominick, Rex, Victor, David.
Finally by 11:45 p.m., we started the epidural, and got some much needed rest for the upcoming day. (No April Fool's Baby for me!)
The next hour results in low blood pressure from the Epidural (79/50), and causes us to have to turn it down from 10 to 5, by 1:30 a.m.
At 6:42 a.m. the resident doctor was given authorization to break by water, and finally at 8:40 a.m. I was up to 6 cm dilated. (At this time, I called my parents, and suggested they moved a little quicker with dropping off the kids at daycare, or they would miss the fun.)
My parents arrived at 9:45, and were quickly followed by the doctor, who didn't want to cut this deliver as close as last time. The delivery room was a small party, as I was still the only excitement on the maternity ward. (Four Doctors (my main doctor, two resident Dr.'s and an ER doctor wanting to learn, 3 Nurses, 2 Grandparents, and finally Nick!)
My doctor told me to try pushing at 10:11 a.m., and two good contractions later the little guy popped out at 10:21 a.m.! Whew! No idea how women push for much longer, that was tiring enough for me.
So here are the hospital pics! Tried to keep them from being too graphic!
My parents brought Brooke & Tyler over that evening to meet their little brother for the first time. They were super excited, and besides the smack to my belly (ugh) by Tyler the visit went very well. (He just wanted to give mommy a big hug and all.)
Super special "Thank You" to my parents for staying for the week and helping to keep some control on these little people!
We decided to travel home around 5:40 p.m. April 3rd.
Now the fun can begin with three crazy kids, and officially being out numbered! AHHHH
